Lay is currently liaising with Louisa Horton, Head of Law at the Borough Council and Mr G Cooper regarding the deterioration of the building. It was up to the Charity Commission to decide where any potential proceeds generated from the institute should go; but it would be appropriate for a percentage to benefit Markfield village. Mr Sprason has pointed out that the County Council had previously undertaken a feasibility study on the building and would be happy to forward the information to the Borough Council if required. RECYCLING BINS - IMLY (F. THE GEORGE INN), MAIN STREET.Cllr. Lay had put forward a proposal to Kevin Taylor, the Borough Council’s recycling officer, about the possibility of relocating the recycling bins to the Red Lion Car Park. He reported that Mrs Beesley (Manager, Markfield Community Centre) had shown an interest in relocating the bins to the Car Park at the Community Centre - This matter would be held in abeyance until the Parish Council Risk Assessment to be held in July 2007. PROPOSAL TO INTROCUCE A 20MPH SPEED RESTRICTION, MAIN STREETCllr. Sprason has agreed to pursue with County Council. |
